tudy23 53 Report post Posted July 1, 2013 (edited) Along with the 100 million installs milestone, Skype got a new, redesigned version for the Android platform. Version 4.0 is now up on the Google Play Store and it resembles Microsoft's design line since Windows Phone 7. Skype is said to be rebuilt from the ground in order to be faster and more reliable. The app should also be more stable and feel better in everyday usage. The new design borrows the flat and minimalistic look from its Windows Phone version. It has the same blue and white elements that usually appear in the Modern UI. Skype claims the app is a lot faster, stable and has shorter loading times. Microsoft says more updates are coming in the following months, making Skype for Android even more reachable and mobile-friendly. We shall keep an eye for future updates. Nothing was mentioned about iOS or other platforms but all the apps from Microsoft should get in line with the new design so iDevices users will probably get some love in the near future. You can get the updated version of Skype for Android directly from the Play Store here. Source: Skype Blog Edited July 1, 2013 by tudy23
